Preferred State 2047 (built by the class)

• Everyone has a living wage that can buy the basics of health, housing, food, medical care

•  Education is prioritized and free  at all levels (birth  thru college/career)

• Personal fulfillment through one’s work. A job provides meaning.

•  Healthcare for all is a human right

• Housing is net-zero and affordable

• Food is available to all people

• local communities support each other

• the environment is safe for human activities

• no underground economy that exploits workers,  all are protected

• the village concept replaces the suburb as a design

• the normal diet is health  and dairy and meat free

• renewable energy provides 100% of energy needs

• the cooperative has replaced the corporation as the dominant form of economic organization.

• people are engaged in improving their local communities

• income inequality has been reduced and there is social mobility and opportunity

• government rules about the free market are not dominated by Wall Street/corporation

• the tax system is fair, simple and generates enough money to pay the bills.

• the notion of corporate “personhood” has been reversed as a result of an amendment to the constitution

• there is price stability (no inflation/deflation)
